Can I choose where my money goes?
Yes indeed. Just use the contact form to get in touch with us, and tell us the project you are keen to support. We’ll make sure your at least 95% of your donation gets there, after we cover bank, legal and transaction fees.
How can I be sure my money will be used for good?
We guarantee it. We are a Registered Australian Charity and have a charter that governs how we operate and what causes we support. We are completely transparent in our operations and our books are regularly audited. We get audited every years by the ACAC and these reports are available on the ACAC website. We started this charity as we were disappointed to find that some older charities don’t always follow through on what they say they will do, or take too long to act.
Are these the only payment options?
Not at all. We accept all kinds of financial support, large or small. You can choose to support us with an ongoing monthly payment or a one off donation. You can donate via Stripe on our website, by PayPal or by direct bank deposit if you prefer. If you are interested in helping us then get in touch today. We are always looking for new and interesting ways to support others.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. We use Stripe for all our transactions who are highly secure. Stripe use industry-leading technology (such as SSL) to keep your information safe.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. Echo International Aid is an registered Australian charity. You’ll get a receipt for your donation by email. ECHO INTERNATIONAL AID LTD. is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) from 21 Dec 2015. It is covered by Item 1 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 .
How can you give so much and still operate?
Because we are passionate and dedicated to ensuring we do what we say. And it’s part of our charter, so we have to, or we loose our official charity status. Echo Nation is operated entirely by reputable volunteers with a long history of doing the right thing by others. Because everyone volunteers there are no wages to pay, and we do not reimburse travel or other expenses either. We do have some admin costs (like bank fees, hosting this website, legal and accounting fees) and spend no more than 5% of all our income on adminstration.
Can I cancel at any time?
Absolutely. If your situation has changed and you can no longer pay your monthly commitment, simply contact us and we will terminate your direct debit right away. You can also choose to support us with a one-off donation if you don’t want the monthly commitment. We would never want your money if you do not have the means to donate – there are many other ways you can help including volunteering or just inviting others to support us.
What else can I do?
Subscribe to our friends list and come along to one of our fundraising events. Better still, host one of your own! Make our story your own and tell the world on social media. The more people who know, the better.
