To coincide with Echo International Aid’s annual appeal and upcoming fundraiser at the Old Melbourne Gaol, U.S based GENESIS network has pledged to match dollar for dollar raised here in Australia.
Together they will build a library, to be an addition to the existing school, for a remote village of displaced Karen people on the Thai Burma border. GENESIS network funded the existing school and Echo International Aid furnished and supplied learning facilities and resources.
The GENESIS Network, a U.S not for profit, uses social networking to develop international human rights projects and help at-risk children and communities. Projects include building schools, economic development and orphan protection. Global volunteers and philanthropists contribute their time, energy and talents every day – The GENESIS Network
The recent collaboration of both charities is proving to be an exciting new force in the border region of Thailand and Burma. Working together to deliver hope and opportunity to displaced communities, devastated by the longest running civil war, inside the closed borders of Burma.
Echo International Aid will be hosting an adventurous fundraising event in the Old Melbourne Gaol, Friday 22nd of July, at what will be the coolest venue for Friday night drinks, music and DJ from Matt Doll of The Mavis’/The Blow Waves, your chance to win some awesome prizes and change the lives of underprivileged people at the same time.
