The Kalbarri Rebuild Fund was launched on Tuesday 13 April 2021, with the aim to raise funds to support Kalbarri locals in the rebuilding of homes destroyed by Cyclone Seroja.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone so far, as of 10 June 2021, we have raised $62,216 which comes from the following sources:
Donations via Facebook $11,085
Donations via Echo International $3,451
Kimberley Rural Ladies Fundraiser $5,720
Youth Ballet WA Fundraiser $300
Exmouth Community Fundraiser $38,031
Freshwater Bay Primary School $2,629
Fundraising efforts are continuing as the Kalbarri Rebuild Fund seeks to work with more groups and organise more fundraising events in the future.
The Kalbarri Rebuild Fund is collaborating with the Kalbarri Development Association on the assessment of applications received from local residents. 100% of funds raised will be distributed to successful applicants, on a case-by-case basis, month by month, as funds become available.
We understand that this is an evolving situation, so we encourage every local of Kalbarri that has been affected by Cyclone Seroja to submit information for assessment.
If you, or someone you know, who lives in Kalbarri, is in need of financial assistance to rebuild or repair their home, please complete the application form here.
We know that insurance claims can take time, and that some locals, whilst insured, may not receive the full amount from their insurance company, and may not have savings to cover the shortfall. We understand that sourcing builders and materials can be challenging, and that some locals are uninsured.
For these reasons, we encourage everyone to complete the form, and you can return and resubmit the form if your needs change over time.
Everyone who completes the application form will have their application assessed and will receive an update by email from the Kalbarri Rebuild Fund in due course.
