This week we have launched the organisation’s first annual appeal. We are seeking to raise funds for urgent projects that will support Karen, Burmese refugees living on Thailand/Burma border.
This appeal, like the community needs, are broad ranging. Echo acts on a needs basis to fund projects with long term benefits, supporting the community to become self-reliant. The appeal aims to raise $30,000 in the next three months and coincides with our second big announcement that Echo International Aid has just been awarded full tax deductibility status last month.
Over the past 12 months, Echo, which distributes 100% of donations, has funded numerous humanitarian food drops, provided university scholarships and citizenships, amongst other transformational success stories. The work that we have completed over the last year with limited funding has made a real impact. Though only small in a global scale, we know that even our collective contributions has created a ripple effect that grows larger each day. We have taken part in changing the lives of real people with real stories.
The work has just begun and we have so much more we can all collectively achieve. The projects that will be funded through this Annual appeal aims to amplify the work and real impact that has been achieved since Echo’s foundation.
Our 2016 appeal will support additional scholarships, citizenships, emergency food aid and the development of what will be the first school library for the remote village of Tee Lai Pha at the Thai Burma border. With the introduction of the library, students within the region will have access to educational resources that have never been previously available.
We ask you to consider to donating to assist to this vital work which supports real people that seem to be forgotten and missing from global humanitarian headlines. Any gift you feel you are able to give, whether large or small, is much appreciated with all donations received before the 30th June being tax deductible for the 2015-2016 financial year.
Donating to Echo makes real impact to real people. 100% of donations received flow to those who need it the most. Make a donation to our annual appeal today.
Echo has shown that change can be made by one person for one person. The ripple effect of lifting one person up, eventually lifts a small village. We take this opportunity to thank you for your support both past and present, in helping our small echo get louder.
