Individual citizenship support

The citizenship program provides assistance for stateless and displaced people along the Thai-Burma border to obtain their own citizenship. Even if they are born in Thailand, citizenship is not automatically granted. With citizenship comes greater opportunity and more rights: access to healthcare, education, unrestricted travel within Thailand; and avoids exploitation in the work force.

How we get it done

Echo International Aid works closely with Kid Launch to deliver support to the most at risk people in the region. Without support these individuals can fall victim to an array of human rights abuses, that present with, the absence of opportunity and official identity.
