In mid March this year, I took a quick trip to Sangkhlaburi on the border of Thailand and Burma. It was to be the first face to face meeting with Adam Swartzbaugh director of Genesis Network U.S. Genesis founded Kidlaunch, our beneficiary, with Madavee Kongpuenpastha in 2008. See links below.
We spent a short 4 days together discussing previous, current and new projects, while visiting several jungle villages around the area. I felt completely inspired and encouraged to be in company of those who have remarkably similar goals and objectives, even though we come from worlds apart.
Time flew by very quickly as we carried out 2 food relief drops to villages on both sides of the border, visited families and students of our Community support and Scholarship programs and repaired our truck along the way as the rough dirt tracks took their toll.
By the week end it was time to part ways, I think I can speak for all of us and say that we had forged a very close connection and all felt very excited and motivated for working together and what the future brings.
This meeting brought about a new joint project, building a library for the school at remote jungle village Tee Lai Pha. See our Building and Development projects page – click here
